The Daily Record, Maryland’s only daily business and legal news source, is seeking an event and advertising coordinator. The primary responsibilities of this role include: event planning, customer service, assisting the publisher and advertising department with revenue and market growth and meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals for ticket, reprint and directory sales.
The Daily Record hosts over 15 statewide events each year ranging from awards events to networking events to conferences. We host events as large as 1,000 people and as small as 100 people each with a unique identity and target audience. The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of planning events, managing expense, and growing revenue. The candidate must have experience working with event venders and controlling expense against a budget, while creating a unique experience for the attendees. This candidate must have excellent communication and customer service skills as the key contact for event winners and attendees. Excellent organization, writing and communication skills are a must.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as with a team, manage multiple deadlines, is an excellent multitasker, has strong written and verbal skills and can adapt easily in a face paced environment. Creativity is very important. Excellent excel and word skills are a must and experience with database management and the ability to learn programs specific to our operation is key to your success. A college degree is required and 1 to 3 years of event and sales experience.
