The Central Penn Business Journal, a leading publisher in digital and print content serving the business community in Central Pennsylvania, is looking for a digital communication specialist to lead our web publishing efforts.
The mission of the award-winning Journal is to guide the conversation for the business community, whether that communication is in person -- events, roundtables and symposiums -- or through digital and print communication. We help recognize business leaders for their accomplishments, provide marketing solutions for our clients and uncover the news that drives our local economy.
The digital communication specialist will collaborate with team members throughout the company: One minute you might be brainstorming social media strategy with the managing editor, while the next you’ll reporting on a breaking news story. We need someone who is a natural self-starter, can work independently and is able to juggle multiple responsibilities at any given time.
The ideal candidate will have proven news judgment and experience with reporting and writing. We also need someone with the curiosity to try new digital tools and an understanding of the news and data needs of a business-to-business market. You’ll help generate online content for our website, manage social media and online newsletter channels.
Skills and qualifications:
Understanding of HTML, WordPress CMS and responsive web design.
Willingness to innovate, experiment and search out online tools to tell a story: think video, data-based stories and graphic-driven content.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and other key metrics.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a company.
1-to-2 years of reporting experience
