Come join the Columbus Dispatch! We are looking for a Multimedia Sales Specialist to join our sales team.                            


  • Identifies prospects for local sales team via telephone, follows up to phone calls when appropriate
  • Works collaboratively with sales management and sales executives
  • Leads that have been converted to sales will be transferred to appropriate MMSE team member after 30 days. 
  • Works to obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from various industry sources
  • Grows team account base through outbound calling and prospecting efforts
  • Continually provides feedback to sales management regarding customer needs and suggestions
  • Explains products and services to interested targets
  • Accomplishes performance metrics
  • Obtains required information and updates all records and CRM appropriately
  • Acts as back-up for sales executives that are on vacation or out on leave
  • Works on special projects for the sales team
  • Spends 40% of time in office prospecting via phone (outside client prospecting 60% of time)  
  • Works as liaison between sales executive and digital specialist on presentations for clients
  • This is a career path position with upward possibilities
  • Duties can change at the discretion of Sales Manager
  • Works as liaison between sales executive and distribution with Salespoint and targeted products


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and appropriate experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in prospecting businesses to generate revenue and promote the company
  • Team player who enjoys the challenge of obtaining new leads
  • Prefer phone sales experience
  • Understanding of internet and digital sales preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Quick learner and adept at developing and maintaining detailed administrative processes, which include CRM maintenance
  • Ability to interact with people on all levels ensuring that all external and internal communication is carried out to a high standard
  • Ability to organize own workload with excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to initiate high-level interactive business conversations with key decision makers
  • Ability to create interest and build value by use of a multi-call inside sales process
  • Ability to identify and develop strategies to overcome obstacles in the decision making process
  • Highly motivated, driven and results oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment
  • Will be required to effectively manage all essential job duties and meet assigned deadlines
